We have the honour of hosting CFM senior teachers who will come to Madrid to offer the “Mindfulness Tools” a 5-Day Residential Intensive Program. 

El CFM

The Center was founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1995 and has been directed by Dr. Saki Santorelli since 2000. Since the inception of the Center’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Clinic in 1979, more than 20,000 people with a range of medical and psychological conditions have completed MBSR training at UMass. Worldwide, with programs on six continents, tens of thousands of people have participated in MBSR programs. More than 14,000 health-care professionals from 80 countries have participated in the Center’s Oasis Institute professional education and training programs. Globally, there are more than 740 places offering MBSR programs in clinics, hospitals, and academic medical centers based on the model developed at UMass.

In the past five years, there have been nearly 2,000 papers about mindfulness and MBSR published in the scientific literature. Dating back to the inception of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Clinic, MBSR research at UMass and at other academic medical centers has shown, among other benefits, consistent, reliable, and reproducible demonstrations of major and clinically relevant reductions in medical and psychological symptoms across a wide range of medical diagnoses, including chronic pain conditions, over the eight weeks of the MBSR program. Maintenance of these changes continues, in some cases, for up to four years of follow up. Most clinic participants experience long-lasting improvements in both physical and psychological symptoms, as well as major positive changes in health attitudes and behaviors and in perception of self. Studies have also shown changes in the brain and the immune system consistent with greater mental and physical health.

Florence Meleo-Meyer.

F_Meleo-Meyer_practicum_españa Florence directs and offers Mindfulness-Based training programs with excellence, depth, rigor and integrity in the development and cultivation of an international network of MBSR teachers, and serves on the Center’s Leadership Team. She the is Director of Oasis Institute for Mindfulness-Based Professional Education and Training, a senior MBSR teacher and a member of the executive leadership team for the Center for Mindfulness. Florence has taught meditation for over 30 years. She is certified as a Siddha Yoga meditation teacher as well as a Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction teacher. She has studied in India and the US with meditation masters, S.Muktananda and S.Chidvilasananda. Since 2003 she has studied Insight Dialogue, trained and taught with Gregory Kramer. Florence holds degrees in education and psychotherapy and is a licensed family therapist. She has trained and taught with Saki Santorelli EdD and Jon Kabat-Zinn,PhD. 

 

MINDFULNESS TOOLS

Mindfulness Tools, a 5-Day Residential Intensive Program™ is based on the 8-week Stress Reduction Program, and is offered for those who may not be able to participate in the traditional 8-week course. The program consists of 5 days (38.5 hours) of direct instruction and is highly participatory, supportive, and structured. You will learn and practice through:
  • guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
  • gentle stretching and mindful yoga
  • group dialogue and mindful communication exercises to enhance awareness in everyday life
  • individually tailored instruction

 

Dates and schedule

September 3rd 2 pm to September 8th 1 pm

Languaje

The program will be taught in English with simultaneous translation into Spanish.

Certificate of assistance

At the end of the course the participant will receive a certificate of assistance issued by the Center for Mindfulness.

Venue

The course will take place in the Escorial-Natura Convention & Resort.

 Requisites

There are no pre-requisites to participate in the seminar other to be ready to fully immerse yourself in this deep learning experience. Registration opens on the 2nd of March 2015 and will remain open until end of available seats.

Tuition: 550 € (accommodation not included)

Accommodations: The cost for accommodations varies depending on the lodging type as follows.

  • Camping = 45€*
  • Double room in a bungalow shared by 4 people = 50 €*
  • Single room in a bungalow shared by 2 people = 68 €*
  • Single room in a bungalow for 1 person = 81,65 €*

* VAT included, this price is per person and per day and it includes full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the complete duration of the course.
